Build Your Custom Cycling Trip or Training Camp

If you’d like to start planning a custom cycling trip, training camp, or cycling retreat, there are just a few simple steps to follow which will help us design the perfect customized travel experience for you. Although we are always happy to discuss your trip plans, it is most practical to speak once you’ve thought about these details and given us an idea about your travel preferences and cycling goals.

Step 1: Choose your ride level & training goals

Step 2: Choose your destination(s)

Step 3: Choose your accommodations

Step 4: Choose your support, services & activities

Step 1: Choose your Ride Level and Training Goals

Please read the level descriptions below and let us know which one is best suited to you and/or your travel companions. You are welcome to choose more than one level if you’d like us to include a mix of different rides in your trip, or if you have a partner or group members with different levels. Please note that the level descriptions imply Nice and its surrounding area as the starting point, but we can organize rides corresponding to each level from any starting point in the French Riviera. If applicable, indicate your training goals on the custom trip form at the bottom of the page.

Level 1 Rides

Level 1 Rides: Explore the beautiful coastal villages and cities of the French Riviera on relaxing rides suitable for cyclists of all levels, from the novice to the avid cyclist. Discover the charming towns along the coast just east of Nice, including Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Cap d’Ail and St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Extend your ride just a little further to discover the Principality of Monaco and the remarkable city of Monte Carlo. Ride along the coast to the west of Nice through Cagnes-sur-Mer to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Cap d’Antibes and visit the cities of Antibes and Cannes. 20km - 70km / Flat - 600m of climbing

Level 2 Rides

Level 2 Rides: Explore the lovely medieval villages in the hills just outside of Nice. Level 2 rides include some short climbs and are suitable for cycling enthusiasts and intermediate level riders. Villages that we ride through on our level 2 rides include the spectacular perched village of Eze with its stunning Mediterranean views, the historic village of La Turbie with its ancient Roman monument, the Trophée d'Auguste, and the charming mountainside village of Peille. Rides just west of Nice take us to the medieval fortified village of Saint Paul-de-Vence, the charming old town of St Jeannet, and the lovely hillside villages of la Gaude and Carros Village. 40km - 80km / 300 - 700m of climbing

Level 3 Rides

Level 3 Rides: Challenge yourself as you climb the scenic and winding mountain roads just outside Nice. These rides are suitable for intermediate to advanced and/or competitive cyclists who are used to doing 3+ hour rides with 700m+ of climbing and may include just about any of the cols from the list below, sometimes more than one of them. Visit the villages perched in the hills north of Nice, featured in the 2020 Tour de France Grand Départ; or ride east along the coast and climb to Eze, La Turbie and Peille. If you’re ready for a challenge, climb the epic 13.5km Col de la Madone, visit the stunning perched village of Gourdon, or take on the 10km long Col de Vence, and explore many charming countryside villages in the hills while en route. 65km - 130km / 500 - 1500m of climbing

They include the challenging mountain passes of our region, frequented by the many pro cyclists who live and train in the South of France. Level 4 rides take you on the legendary cols of Paris-Nice, the Tour de France, and the Ironman Nice course, and often include several mountain passes in one ride. We can also arrange an excursion to the Col de la Bonette - the highest paved road in Europe, with its summit at 2802m altitude - or the infamous Mont Ventoux, which is located just 3 hours Northwest of Nice. 100km - 160+km / 1200m+ climbing

Start planning your custom cycling trip

"Whenever you plan to come to the South of France for serious cycling: check out Azur Vélo. Founded by Diana Panchyk, a hard core cyclist and completely in the know. The roads, the places to hang out, meeting up with the local pro's, the best masseurs, etcetera etcetera. If you look for someone to help you make the most of your days in this cyclists paradise ask her. Be it a large group with more trainers for hard-core training sessions, an arranged event around Tour de France stages (but for those who want to do some real biking themselves too!) or just a gpx file on a favourite track. Get in touch with her. You won't regret it. My stay here was fantastic, efficient and inspirational. Oh,.. and she is an academic in French linguistics and fun to chat with too when you got any breath left."
