2027 Cycling Tours

2027 Cycling Tours - New Destinations!

We’re pleased to announce some exciting new private and public tours for 2027! More new tours and dates are coming soon. Non-cycling companions: For most tours with multiple locations, we are offering the possibility for non-cyclists to be transferred in a separate vehicle to each destination, with customized sightseeing stops and activities on the way – so you have your own unique tour while your travel partners are out cycling!

Please note that private tours are subject to our availability, and generally fill up quickly. This is because we are a small team of experienced guides and accomplished athletes at Azur Vélo, and our focus is on creating exceptional experiences rather than increasing the number of our tours. This ensures a very high attention to detail and the devotion of our energy and resources to each tour, so meaningful and memorable experiences can be created for our guests.

How Does It Work?

Private | Public Tours:

  1. If a tour is already public with confirmed dates, simply follow the link to the corresponding reservation form.
  2. Request a tour as a private group (up to 20 people). Former guests: We will hold your group tour slot for 2 weeks free of charge. If you are not a former guest, we ask for a $100 per person pre-booking fee to hold your group tour slot for up to 3 weeks. Please see our reservation inquiry page for more information about private bookings.
  3. If you are not traveling in a group but you are interested in joining a tour, you may request that your place is held and we will give you priority booking if the tour goes public.

An Overview

Here is an overview of the itinerary, ride level, accommodations, and dates for each tour. Private dates are to be confirmed on request; public dates are listed below if applicable and are already confirmed trip departures. Please note that the mountain passes listed in the cols section are simply highlights, and several others are likely included in each itinerary. Minimum and maximum elevation listed is for our suggested tour routes and public versions of the tours, but we can modify the routes to best suit your needs on private tours. For trips with multiple locations, your private tour itinerary would be tailored to correspond with your ride levels and preferences (lakeside or mountainside locations, premium or ultimate accommodations, etc.).

If you are interested in booking as a private group, we will work with you to customize the itinerary and other details of your tour, and you will have access to a private web page with all the specific information pertaining to your trip. If a tour goes public, detailed information will appear on the dedicated tour page at that time.

Ride Levels

Please read our ride level descriptions below so you can choose the tour that best corresponds to your level, or request we customize your itinerary with levels better suited to your group.

Level 1 rides are on the easiest routes in your tour location and are suitable for cyclists of all levels. The terrain is generally flat, rolling or there are some shorter climbs. Usually Level 1 rides are along the coast or inland in the valleys. Our more challenging tours often include one or two recovery days with Level 1 rides. 20km – 60km / Flat – 400m of climbing

Level 2 rides cover distances that take most cyclists 2-4 hours, and involve moderate climbs. Although they may start at the coast, they tend to veer inland and through the numerous perched villages scattered along the hills and mountains of the French and Italian Riviera. 40km – 80km / 300 – 700m of climbing

Level 3 rides are challenging and suitable for avid cyclists who are accustomed to long distances and difficult climbs (5 km – 20 km climbs). Routes may include several mountain passes. Level 3 rides often include the iconic climbs of our region such as the Col de la Madone, Col de Vence and the Col de Braus. 70km – 120km / 500 – 1500m of climbing

Level 4 rides are suitable for avid and/or competitive cyclists who are used to doing challenging rides of 4 to 6+ hours with significant climbing. Level 4 rides take you on the legendary cols of the Tour de France, Paris-Nice, and the Ironman Nice course, and often include several mountain passes in one ride, as well as Hors Catégorie cols. 90km – 180+km / 1500m+ – 4000m+ climbing
