A small bridge takes you across the Malvan river and the forest path brings you all the way to the village of Saint-Paul de Vence.

Originally founded as a Roman settlement, Vence became a significant religious center in the Middle Ages, and attracted many artists and intellectuals during the Renaissance and up to the 20th century. Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall were among the artists who found inspiration in Vence.
Saint-Paul-de-Vence has a rich history dating back to the 9th century. Its impressive ramparts were built in the 15th century, and it quickly evolved into a cultural hub. Prominent artists like Marc Chagall lived there, and the picturesque town is still known for its art galleries.
